When the Christmas decorations have been put away for another year, your house can be left feeling a little empty and bare, so the new year is a great time to refresh your home. We're sharing our favourite quick and simple ways to update your space to make it feel homely again.
The new year can bring a time of reflection as well as planning for the year ahead, and this includes our homes. Whether it's taking the opportunity to declutter and organise your space better or starting to plan those home interior projects you've been wanting to do, the start of the year is a good time give your home a refresh. It's also a time to look forward to the spring months ahead, whilst still enjoying those cosy feelings of the winter months.
Here's our top tips for refreshing your home this January:
1. Spring florals & new accessories
Once the Christmas tree comes down, your space can feel a little empty without the greenery and fairy lights. Introducing natural green stems with some spring florals can really brighten a room and remind us that the new season is only round the corner. We've curated the perfect spring bouquet and vase bundle that we think is a beautiful arrangement to brighten your home at this time of year.
The dark nights are still upon us for a few weeks yet, so it's nice to make your home feel cosy and warm with some lovely candles and lanterns. Introducing some scented candles with a floral fragrance is good way to bring a freshness to your home.
2. Spring clean and re-organise
When the decorations have been put away for another year and you've managed to clean up all the rogue pine needles and glitter, it gives you some more space to clean, de-clutter and organise. Your surroundings can impact your energy and how you feel, so getting everything clean and organised is a great mood booster.
The key to having an organised house is to ensure you have enough storage that you utilise. This can be as simple as having a dish on a hallway console table to place your keys and loose change, to using some beautiful decorative baskets to store throws, books or children's toys!
3. Start a home interior project
If there's an area of your home you would like to give a makeover in 2023, then the start of the year can be a good time to start planning your projects. This could be as small as buying some new home accessories to spruce up your coffee table or a complete re-design of a room.
